Rule & Regulation at Guruji College of Nursing, Bhubaneswar

At Guruji College of Nursing, discipline, professionalism, and ethical conduct are essential qualities of a competent nurse. Every student is expected to maintain high standards of behavior and adhere to the following rules and regulations.

1. General Conduct

  • Students shall maintain discipline and decorum within and outside the campus.
  • Respect towards faculty members, staff, patients, and fellow students is mandatory.
  • Any act of misconduct, violence, or indiscipline will invite disciplinary action.

2. Attendance

  • Students must maintain the attendance prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council and the affiliating university.
  • Attendance in theory classes, practical sessions, clinical postings, seminars, and examinations is compulsory.
  • Leave must be obtained only with prior permission from the concerned authorities.

3. Dress Code

  • Wearing the prescribed college uniform and identity card is compulsory during college hours and clinical postings.
  • Students should maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance.
  • Improper dress or appearance is not permitted.

4. Academic Responsibilities

  • Students are required to complete assignments, records, and practical files within the stipulated time.
  • Participation in internal assessments and university examinations is compulsory.
  • Malpractice or unfair means during examinations will lead to strict disciplinary action.

5. Anti-Ragging Policy

  • Guruji College of Nursing follows a Zero-Tolerance Policy towards ragging.
  • Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited inside and outside the campus.
  • Students found guilty will be dealt with according to the provisions of the Anti-Ragging Act and may face suspension or expulsion.

6. Use of Mobile Phones

  • Mobile phones must remain switched off during classes, laboratory sessions, library hours, and clinical postings unless permitted by the faculty.
  • Misuse of electronic devices is prohibited.

7. Clinical and Hospital Conduct

  • Students must follow all hospital rules and protocols during clinical training.
  • Patient confidentiality and professional ethics must be maintained at all times.
  • Students should treat patients and healthcare personnel with courtesy and compassion.

8. Library Rules

  • Silence and discipline shall be maintained in the library.
  • Books should be returned on time.
  • Damage or loss of library materials will be charged to the concerned student.

9. Campus Discipline

  • Smoking, consumption of alcohol, drugs, and any unlawful activities are strictly prohibited.
  • Damage to college property will attract penalties and disciplinary action.
  • Students are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and preserving institutional property.

10. Participation in Activities

  • Attendance in college functions, workshops, conferences, seminars, and community health programs organized by the institution is mandatory.

11. Hostel Regulations

  • Hostel residents must follow the rules prescribed by the hostel authorities.
  • Visitors are allowed only during approved timings.
  • Students shall maintain cleanliness, discipline, and mutual respect in the hostel premises.

12. Amendments

The college reserves the right to modify or amend these rules and regulations from time to time. All students are required to abide by the decisions of the Principal and Management, which shall be final and binding.
